Every year Elastic meets in a different place around the world. When they came to Orlando, they contacted us to film everything we could while they were in town.
This included lifestyle content from the conference itself, Elasticians talking about what it's like to work for Elastic, profiles on multiple people, and many hours of educational content for those using Elasticsearch.
Because Elastic is global they make global content. So not only did we film English, we also filmed and edited content in various other languages including Spanish, French, Dutch, and Swiss-German.
Over two days, we shot enough footage to make over 3 hours of edited content for Elastic. We worked as two crews, combining where necessary. One crew was run and gun, shooting most of the conference itself. The other crew set up a conference room to film on a nicely lit grey to match Elastic's prior educational content. On day two that crew swapped to green screen so that we could composite in backgrounds from Elastic's beautiful offices.
